Welcome friends.
If you’re feeling down, try this NLP switching technique to see if it helps shift your mood.
Please note: This technique is not intended for those with deep emotional issues. Always consult a qualified physician for such concerns.
1. Identify the Sensation: Focus on the part of your body where you feel out of sorts or unmotivated. Gently place your hand on that specific area. This helps anchor your attention to the physical sensation you are currently feeling.
2. Enhance the Sensation: Imagine intensifying the sensation you’re experiencing by 10 percent. Notice how this subtle increase affects your perception of the feeling. Pay attention to any changes in its intensity or quality.
3. Visual Representation: Shift your focus from physical sensation to a visual representation of a person experiencing the same sensation. Observe this figure closely, noting their expressions, posture, and other details that capture the essence of the feeling.
4. Construct a Narrative: Create a story about this person based on the image you’ve seen. Describe their experience, how they deal with it, and any changes or resolutions they encounter. As you tell this story, you may find that the intensity of your own feelings diminishes.
5. Observe the Shift: As you reflect on the narrative, notice how the original feeling of being out of sorts has significantly lessened. Recognize that you were initially identified with a thought pattern that generated this feeling.
By shifting your focus and creating a story, you have cleared the channel of that thought and its associated feeling. You are now more aligned with your pure self, feeling more grounded and balanced.
This process helps you shift your focus from a disruptive feeling to a more neutral, detached perspective, allowing you to regain control and clarity.
